12th of January started with very cold weather and strong winds in most areas in Bulgaria. The lowest temperature, - 23 degrees per Celsius, was registered in the town of Knezha, North-West Bulgaria.
The weather is predicted to gradually get warmer. The situation in the country is getting back to notmal after the cold grip.
At the same time, Varna Lake, which is the largest and deepest liman along the Bulgarian black Sea coast, has frozen.
Several days of freezing temperatures were sufficient for the ice cover, because it is lower in salinity. Fishing boats remained in the frozen water and the owners are waiting for the ice to melt to go fishing again. In Bulgaria, the sea has frozen three times over the past 100 years.
