"Vazrazhdane" to initiate a comprehensive change in the Electoral Code
"Vazrazhdane" party will initiate a comprehensive change in the Electoral Code, the party leader Kostadin Kostadinov said in a letter to the media on November 7.
"The prepared request of the political organization to the Constitutional Court for a complete annulment of the elections was not supported by the other parties and will not be submitted. Apparently, all political parties used the issue of the fairness of the vote only for political PR, because those who talked about it the most did not proceed to action," the message of "Vazrazhdane" said.
At the beginning of the week "Vazrazhdane" drafted a request for the annulment of the elections and invited all political parties that are actively talking about it to sign it. The only ones who signed the document were seven MPs from the 50th Parliament, who are part of the splinter group of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) and are from the MPs aroundthe former BSP leader Kornelia Ninova. They were not elected as MPs in the 51st National Assembly, the letter explains.
"Not a single newly elected MP supported the petition of Vazrazhdane, but despite this the political talk on the issue continues and it is very active and in various forms. The representatives of "Velichie", who are actively using the topic to keep the media attention on themselves and are obviously affected by the fact that they will not become MPs in the 51st Parliament, also did not put their signature to the petition prepared by "Vazrazhdane". This once again shows that the words of the representatives of this organization contradict their deeds, and their actions and active speaking on the subject are obviously dictated by a desire to exploit it in order to keep the media attention on themselves, but not to act in favour of the fairness of the vote," "Vazrazhdane" wrote.
It is pointed out that during the election campaign the MPs of "Vazrazhdane" have submitted more than 70 reports of violations in the electoral process.
"After the start of the 51st Parliament, the MPs of the pro-Bulgarian political organization "Vazrazhdane" are to initiate a comprehensive change in the Electoral Code. This will be the follow-up action they will take to preserve the integrity of the Bulgarian citizens' vote," the letter to the media added.
