Covid-19 epidemic emergency situation extended until July 31
Bulgaria’s Minister of Health Kiril Ananiev, the Head of the National Task Force against the coronavirus, Major General Dr. Ventsislav Mutafchiyski, the Chief State Health Inspector Assoc. Prof. Angel Kunchev and the Executive Director of the Executive Agency for Medicines Bogdan Kirilov on July 6 gave a briefing in connection with the Covid-19 epidemic situation in the country.
At a meeting this morning held with the Prime Minister with the National Task Force and attended by the Minister of Finance Goranov and Deputy Prime Minister Donchev, it was decided that the epidemic emergency situation will be extended until the end of July. This is done in order to make it possible for the health minister to issue orders related to limiting the spread of coronavirus.
The daily meetings with the Prime Minister continue, at which an analysis of the epidemic situation in the country will be made.
The control over the observance of the anti-epidemic measures is strengthened. It is recommended that the district task force units strengthen the control on the territory of their district, if necessary to introduce new measures, taking into account the situation in their region and their competence.
It is recommended to reduce the number of mass events to a minimum, because in recent weeks there has been a strong spread of the virus after mass events.
Ananiev will issue an order in which he will determine the citizens of which countries will be able to enter the territory of Bulgaria, as well as those who will be able to enter, but will be required a 14-day quarantine.
A Bulgarian team is very close to finding the benefits of a potential medicine for the coronavirus, said Minister Ananiev.
The Director of the Executive Agency for Medicines, Bogdan Kirilov said that a clinical trial with the drug "Ivermectin" was launched in Bulgaria in May. The team, the assignor and the company-producer are Bulgarian. So far, 30 patients are volunteering. The trial is conducted in 9 hospitals in Bulgaria.
