Coronavirus in Bulgaria: 44 cases reported in 24 hours, new outbreak in Satovcha
The Secretary of the national task force against coronavirus, associate professor Dimo Dimov, on May 10 presented updated information related to the spread of the virus in the country.
Forty four new cases of coronavirus were confirmed for the past 24 hours (since 08.00 am on May 9), from conducted 1,126 tests. This brings the total cases to 1,955.
Currently, 389 of the total number of patients diagnosed with Covid-19 are in hospitals, 56 are in intensive care.
So far, 444 patients have recovered, 22 of them in the past 24 hours.
The total tests conducted so far is 57,231, which means 8,175 per one million people.
Fifteen of the latest cases were registered in Blagoevgrad.
Ten new cases were reported in Sofia, 7 of them were admitted for hospital treatment. Pazardzhik reported 5 new cases, Vidin – 4, Kyustendil – 4, Yambol – 3, Pleven – 2, Vratsa – 1, Kardzhali – 1, Montana- 1, Sliven – 1.
The increase in Blagoevgrad is due to an outbreak of the infection in a village in Satovcha municipality. The Regional Health Inspectorate there has undertaken all the necessary measures to identify the contacts of the person who first tested positive for the virus.
Three new cases of medical staff were confirmed in the past 24 hours.
Five new cases of children were confirmed, aged between 1 and 18.
The fatalities are 90.
