The news that the European Parliament's Transport Committee did not address the demands of the Bulgarian road hauliers related to the Mobility package was disappointing to 600 people who protested at the heart of Europe in Brussels on 10th of January.
The protest began with a peaceful procession, which was strictly guarded by the security forces and ended in the Luxembourg Square.
Speaking to BNT reporter Nikolai Minkov, one of the hauliers said that the double standards imposed by the package should be stopped, as well as the “theft” of business from the countries from the periphery of Europe.
He said the protests would go on. The next step would probably be in Bucarest, because Romania already took over the Presidency of the Council of the EU.
