Prosecutors and police on January 22 searched the State Gambling Commission. The search lasted nearly 6 hours. The investigation is conducted by the Special Prosecutor's Office. The check aims to identify why the commission has allowed private lotteries to pay lower fees than state-owned lottery “Toto”.
According to the Financial Inspection, which has been checking the gambling commission since December, only one of the games had resulted in losses to the state budget to the size of BGN 210 million.
