Doctors and members of the public staged a protest on 5th of October in Vratsa, North-West Bulgaria over the heavy financial position of the city’s hospital.
The health care institution has accumulated debts of more than BGN 12 million, which the management cannot deal with. For months, the medical staff received only part of their wages. The protest turned into civil disobedience. Traffic on a key boulevard in the city was temporarily blocked.
