Annual inflation for the month of June is 16,8%, according to data from the National Statistical Institute. The rise on a monthly basis is 0,9%, with the highest rise being in transport, restaurant and hotel prices.

We recognize record numbers of production and exported goods in May, but, against this background, inflation rises more quickly than the income.

It is unclear whether the recalculation of pensions will be felt as an increase or that the inflation and rising bills will melt it away.

“This export means that our partners were buying our goods because of the large amount of money that was distributed in the West, but we are entering an environment that distorts the picture, an environment of war, of higher interest, of inflation, while at the same time Germany and France recognize a decrease in these same indicators,” declared Kuzman Iliev, an economic analyst.

Under these circumstances, the denial of a new minimum wage increase puts the Bulgarian worker in a situation that forces them to live with declining income during rising inflation,” added Vanya Grigorova, an economist and counsellor in the “Podkrepa” Confederation of Labour.
