During excavations of a necropolis mound in the area between Provadia and Vetrino, (Northeastern Bulgaria), archaeologists discovered a Roman chariot. It is the first one found in Varna district.

The head of the excavations is the archaeologist Vladimir Slavchev from the Regional History Museum in the seaside town. In the 2nd-3rd century AD, the mound was used for cremations. In its southern part, archaeologists discovered stone structures, the purpose of which is still unexplained.
