The fourth season of the BNT crime series “Undercover” is among the entries for the most prestigious competition for TV programmes and series - the International Emmy Awards.
In the 43rd edition of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, the hit Bulgarian TV series will compete in the Drama series category.
For the first time, “Undercover” season 1 and 2 were shortlisted for the first round of the International Emmy Awards in 2012. The series was again included in the selection in 2013 - with season 3.
Unlike the previous occasions, “Undercover” now enters into the competition with a different starting position and a serious portfolio. The series was sold in 148 territories and is known to the international audience and the world film community, says Sevda Shishmanova, BNT1 programme director.
The International Emmy Award is presented annually by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Each entry into the competition undergoes up to three rounds of judging. The first round takes place between April and June when the jurors view the entries and vote online.
The Semi-Final round of judging is held between June and September. Hosts (members of the Academy) invite television professionals to participate as jurors during this second stage of judging.
The final round takes place in September. The nominations of the 43rd edition of the International Emmy Awards will be announced on 12th of October in Cannes, France. The winners will be announced at an official ceremony on 23rd of November in New York.
