Bulgaria's President meets NATO Assistant Secretary General
Bulgaria's President, Rumen Radev, on April 15 met with NATO Assistant Secretary General, Angus Lapsley, who is visiting Bulgaria. The two discussed the building of modern defence capabilities of the Bulgarian army in the context of the challenges facing the changed global security environment.
The topics of the talks included the increase of military mobility within the Alliance, the promotion of joint defence research and development, and the investment of member states in defence.
The modernisation process of the Armed Forces implies not only the acquisition of modern equipment, but also the improvement and development of critical infrastructure, including through the implementation of projects to increase connectivity between member states, President Radev said at the meeting.
