Bulgaria invites more German investors to participate in educational programmes
Bulgaria wants to deepen its traditionally good cooperation with Germany in the field of education, science and innovation, Prime Minister Acad. Nikolai Denkov said at a meeting with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, Irene Plank, on July 4.
The Prime Minister highlighted a number of positive examples of fruitful interaction of German investors with secondary and higher education institutions in Bulgaria. The Government is ready to encourage this dialogue so that more German companies can learn about the opportunities for such cooperation. The aim is to have more programmes that contribute to Bulgaria having quality education and qualified specialists for business.
Ambassador Irene Plank has welcomed the active cooperation not only in education and science, but also in security and defence. The German side has expressed its desire for accreditation of a defence attaché in the embassy in Sofia.
For his part, Prime Minister Denkov has highlighted Bulgaria’s intention for defence investments to reach 2% of GDP as early as next year, which is the target set by NATO. The government intends to develop the military-industrial complex so that it participates in the overall economic growth of the European Union.
