The Payment Request includes 22 milestones and targets related to the implementation of 18 reforms and investments of the Plan, with only one milestone reporting partial implementation, which is also expected to be completed within the timeframe for the EC's review and approval under Article 24 of Regulation (EU) 2021/241 of the European Parliament and of the Council, dated 12 February 2021, for establishing a Recovery and Resilience Mechanism.
"This is an important step for the implementation of the Plan. I hope that the joint efforts of the Bulgarian institutions will lead to its successful implementation, so that these funds will help our economy and the whole society will see the results," said the caretaker Minister of Finance, Rositsa Velkova.
