Bulgaria will continue to support Ukraine, caretaker PM Glavchev said during a meeting with Ukrainian PM Denys Shmyhal

Bulgaria will continue its firm support for Ukraine. From the very beginning of this unprovoked war Bulgaria has been providing consistent assistance to Ukraine at all possible levels - political, financial, military, humanitarian and diplomatic", caretaker Prime Minister, Dimitar Glavchev, said during a videoconference call with Ukrainian Prime Minister, Denys Shmyhal, on May 7, as reported by the government press office.

Dimitar Glavchev expressed a firm position on Bulgaria's unwavering support for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognised borders. The Ukrainian Prime Minister thanked on his own behalf and on behalf of his people for the support that Bulgaria provides.

The caretaker Prime Minister confirmed that he will participate in the Ukraine Recovery Conference, which will be held in early June in Berlin. The main aim of the event is to mobilise international support for the reconstruction, reform and modernisation of Ukraine following the end of Russian aggression. Glavchev said that representatives of the Bulgarian business will be with him at the conference in the German capital.

Dimitar Glavchev was adamant that the Bulgarian state supports the "Formula for Peace" initiative presented by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. It is a conceptual plan aimed at ending the war in Ukraine and achieving a comprehensive and lasting peace based on preserving Ukraine's territorial integrity.

The good ties between the two countries, which are further strengthened by the Bulgarian historical diaspora in Ukraine, which numbers about 200,000 people, were also noted during the talks.

On April 29, the transport of the military-technical assistance to Ukraine, based on a parliamentary decision and determined by the Council of Ministers Decision No 134 of February 23, was completed, the Ministry of Defence said on Tuesday.

The Ministry will continue to provide military and military-technical assistance to Ukraine in implementation of the decisions taken by the National Assembly, the statement said.
