Bulgarian MEP Ilhan Kyuchyuk elected as Chairman of EP Committee on Legal Affairs
Bulgarian MEP Ilhan Kyuchyuk fromMRF/Renew Europe) has been elected Chairman of the European Parliament's Committee on Legal Affairs (JURI). The new Parliament on July 23 elected the chairs and vice-chairs of the committees.
“It is an honour to be elected Chairman of the Committee on Legal Affairs and I thank its members for their trust. The Committee on Legal Affairs has an important institutional role and legislative competences in key areas. I look forward to working constructively, based on the strength of the different perspectives and expertise of the Commissioners, to meet the expectations of EU citizens and businesses," said Ilhan Kyuchyuk.
MEP Emil Radev (GERB-UDF/EPP) was elected fourth vice-chair of the same parliamentary committee.
MEP Nikola Minchev (Renew Europe/Continue the Change) was elected second vice-chair of the parliamentary committee on internal market and consumer protection.
MEP Tsvetelina Penkova (BSP/Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats) was elected first vice-chair of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy.
Hristo Petrov from WCC-DB/Renew Europe was elected fourth vice-chair of the Culture Committee in the EP.
