Cabinet proposes President Radev to lead the Bulgarian delegation at the NATO Summit
At its meeting on Wednesday, June 26, the caretaker government approved framework positions for Bulgaria's participation in the NATO Heads of State and Government Meeting, which will be held from 9 to 11 July in Washington DC, USA. This was announced by the government press office on June 27.
The positions have not been published and the annexes are for official use only. The caretaker cabinet proposes to Head of State, Rumen Radev, to lead the Bulgarian delegation at the summit and, according to the course of the discussion, to present the framework positions adopted by the cabinet. The President will be able to approve and endorse the documents presented to the attention of the Heads of State and Government, including the final communiqué of the meeting.
The government decision also confirmed the mebers of the Bulgarian delegation in Washington. In addition to the President and the caretaker Prime Minister, it includes the caretaker Minister of Defence, the Chief of Defence, Bulgaria's Permanent Representative to NATO, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nevyana Miteva, the Chiefs of Staff of the President and the Prime Minister, three of the President's Secretaries, directors of departments in the Council of Ministers and other officials from the two institutions.
