Caretaker government handed over power to the new government

At a ceremony held at the Council of Ministers on June 6th, the caretaker cabinet handed over the power to the newly elected government.

It is with pride and great satisfaction that we hand over the governance of the country to the regular government, said outgoing caretaker Prime Minister Galab Donev.

In his words, the government gives hope that the main problems facing Bulgarian citizens and businesses will be solved. This hope can grow into confidence and security if you continue to work to solve all pressing problems and strategic priorities. In these 10 months, the caretaker government has done a tremendous amount of work. We are handing over the country with well-functioning systems, Donev said.

He expressed confidence that there will be continuity in power on priorities. He noted as success of the caretaker cabinet the diversification from Russian nuclear fuel and natural gas, as well as the agreements with Azerbaijan, Hungary, Slovakia and Romania on the unification of gas transmission networks, energy agreements with Turkey and Greece.

We have made the environment in the Council of Ministers transparent, we have held open doors in the Council of Ministers for the first time, members of the public have touched every corner of the Council of Ministers building, where the important and responsible decisions for the country are made, Donev said.

The new Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov said that everything should be done to start work as quickly as possible in the interests of citizens and business. Priorities are set by the National Assembly, I did not understand what was the point of this act to dismiss all deputy ministers with few exceptions, which does not help to have continuity. I hope everyone will meet the new ministers, pass on information about what is happening in the ministries, much more important are the problems in each ministry, my appeal is to pay attention to them (the new ministers), Denkov said.
