Caretaker PM Glavchev: Not only Bulgaria, but also NATO has no intention to send soldiers to Ukraine
The spring session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Sofia gave opportunities to some to again show their capabilities regarding hybrid attacks and disinformation, warned caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev at the beginning of the government meeting on May 29.
"The rumour that Bulgaria is going to send soldiers to Ukraine, which of course has nothing to do with anything, has spread persistently. Stoltenberg himself said that not only Bulgaria, but also NATO - as an alliance, has no such intentions - nothing like that has been discussed. So I think telling the truth is the best way to fight hybrid attacks and disinformation," Glavchev said.
The caretaker Prime Minister also pointed out that today is a very big day for the Bulgarian energy sector, taking into account the first refuelling of Kozloduy NPP Unit 5 with US nuclear fuel.
"It is a historical fact - 43 Westinghouse cartridges have been loaded into unit 5 of the nuclear power plant. This is not just 43 cartridges - it is a fact that we have diversification in the energy sector. That word 'diversification' means at least three things - reliable supply, energy security and operational safety.

Diversification is also about choice - when you have the opportunity to make choices, you have the opportunity to make them better. The fruit of 20 years of effort, we have the honour of finalising this process at the first stage. It continues with the selection of alternative fuel for Unit 6, where we have signed an agreement with the French company," Glavchev said.
