Certificates for recovery from Covid-19 or for a negative test are no longer valid
The certificates for recovery from COVID-19 or a negative test are being dropped, the Ministry of Health said. These documents cease to be valid as of July 4 as per the order issued by the Health Minister.
Only the issuance of vaccination certificates remains possible. They are the only documents that will be generated on the website of the National Health Information System - his.bg.
If a document is needed for a laboratory test or a COVID-19 recovery, health facilities would be able to issue a medical document with that information to be used as required.
The Ministry of Health has proposed changes to the legislation to abolish mandatory quarantine for those who have Covid-19 and people who have been in contact with them.
The Ministry has released the proposed changes to the Health Act for public discussion.
COVID-19 is currently listed as a dangerous disease, such as plague and cholera, for which quarantine and isolation are mandatory. The Ministry of Health proposes that the new coronavirus be removed from this list.
The proposed legislation is subject to approval by the Cabinet and Parliament.
If lawmakers approve the proposed amendments, there will be no quarantine and isolation for those infected with COVID-19 and their contacts. There remains, however, the possibility that they could be introduced by order of the Minister of Health, on the proposal of the Chief State Health Inspector, if necessary.
The deadline for public consultation on the proposed changes is 2 August. They must then be voted on by the government and enter the Parliament for discussion and a vote.
