Cost of holidays at Bulgarian Black sea coast projected to rise by 15% to 30% this year
A holiday on the Black Sea coast will be between 15 and 30% more expensive this year, a representative of Bourgas Tourist Chamber told BNT morning show on March 13.
The industry expects a strong season. Most of the hotels in Sunny Beach resort are almost fully booked for Easter. Serious growth is also registered in early bookings. This year, there is great interest from tourists from Romania, Greece and Turkey.
"Colleagues from the chamber say that the cost of holidays will be by between 15% and 30% higher, but of course it all depends on how prices and inflation are going," said Hristina Slavova,
According to her, more tourists from Germany, Great Britain, Poland, Central Europe are expected, more charter flights to the South Black Sea coast are planned, there are more tourists from Israel.
Generally, we do not have tourists from Turkey, but now we have enquiries. We have a lot of enquiries and a lot of bookings from Greeks. In general, a flow is starting, which we have not expected before," added Rumen Monchev, hotel owner.
He explained that mostly Romanians and Bulgarians are expected for the Easter holidays.
"We have no difficulties. There is a slight increase in accommodation prices," said Rumen Monchev.
According to tour operators, the Eastern European market is being worked on, as the Belarus-Russia market will not have many tourists.
There is a risk that the eastern part of Sunny Beach, where most of the hotels on the first and second line are, near the beach, will remain without street lighting for Easter because of a power outage, hoteliers from the complex have warned.
The company, which manages the resort, told BNT that the lighting is maintained and the claims are unfounded and stressed that the resort is ready to welcome tourists for Easter.
