Covid-19 vaccination centres will be opened in the major hospitals in Bulgaria
Covid-19 vaccination centres will be opened in the major hospitals in Bulgaria, said the Chief State Health Inspector Assoc. Prof. Angel Kunchev, who met with doctors from pre-hospital care and health officials in the city of Gabrovo on July 4.
Access to vaccines against Covid-19 will be guaranteed through points in the country's larger hospitals, Kunchev said and reminded that immunization offices in regional health inspectorates are also open and working. So far, there is no need to introduce anti-epidemic measures, despite the increase in the number of cases in the past two weeks, Kunchev said.
"There is no particular pressure on hospitals yet. This is also the case in Western Europe, which shows that these characteristics of the virus are confirmed: more transmissible, less dangerous."
The Covid-zones system has already been played out and whether they will be reopened depends on the incidence of the disease and how busy the system is, the chief health inspector said, adding that it is difficult to predict what levels the spread of infection will reach:
"There is nothing so fatal in the fact that more people will get the virus and will have mild symptoms, for two, three, five days. In short, the coronavirus may be turning into a regular respiratory virus like the flu virus, but whether it will continue to do so, however, no one can say, because the changes in it are continuing."
Communication between doctors and patients on immunisation issues was the topic of a discussion held in Gabrovo with the participation of the Chief Health Inspector, doctors from pre-hospital care and health professionals.
