Earthquake in Romania felt in Bulgaria
New strong earthquake in Romania was registered at 15.15 on February 14. The earthquake had a magnitude of 5.5 on the Richter scale and was at a depth of 40 km, according to the European Seismological Centre.
The tremor was also felt in many areas of Bulgaria, including Sofia - even on the lower floors.
Aftershocks of between 3.9 and 3.4 on Richter have been registred.
The epicentre was 73 km north-east of Drobeta-Turno Severin. Yesterday, shortly before 17:00, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 on the Richter scale was recorded in the same area of Romania. There were no reports of injuries or material damage.
The Ministry of Interior told BNT that there was no evidence of damage on the territory of Bulgaria.
