Energy Minister: Obviously, it is necessary to negotiate with Gazprom

"Obviously, it is necessary to negotiate with Gazprom, but these will be very difficult and tough talks," caretaker Energy Minister, Rosen Hristov, said at a briefing at the Council of Ministers on August 22.

In his words, the ministry has prepared various options for talks, but is waiting for a response from Gazprom.

"The interconnector (Bulgaria-Greece) was left unattended by the previous government, a number of problems related to construction and documentation have accumulated, we found complete chaos and a management that did not cooperate in solving the problem. Sofia district heating owes hundreds of millions to public supplier Bulgargaz and there is no way this will end under the current management, on the contrary, it is expected to grow by 300 million per month," added caretaker Energy Minister Rosen Hristov.
