Energy regulator gave the green light to the gas interconnector with Greece
Bulgaria’s energy regulator (Energy and Water Regulatory Commision) on September 30 approved the framework for the start of the operation of the gas interconnector between Bulgaria and Greece on 1 October.
The Commission adopted three important decisions: it approved the network code with the current commercial and market practices, confirmed the date for the start of operation of the interconnector as of 1 October and authorised the licensing activity of ICGB. The first two decisions are taken by both parties.
Energy regulator’s chairman, Ivan Ivanov, announced that with the interconnector, the natural gas price for October will be below BGN 240/MWh. The regulator will approve it at a meeting tomorrow.
