Farmers and animal breeders seek the resigantion of Minister of Agriculture
Farmers from all over the country staged another protest on November 30 outside the Ministry of Agriculture.
They demanded the resignation of the minister of agriculture, Kiril Vatev, and an immediate meeting with the Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov, but they were refused.
The protesters declared their readiness, if not invited to a meeting with the PM, to try to rush into the Council of Ministers building, but made it clear that they did not want clashes with the police cordon. Shortly after that the protest ended. The industry is yet to announce its next actions.
Hundreds of people from the industry gathered once again this morning to express their dissatisfaction with the lack of support from the state.
They said the state's assistance was insufficient and promises of financial support to the industry had not been fulfilled. They are demanding that aid be included in next year's budget to compensate for losses due to the war in Ukraine.
