Five documents on cooperation between Bulgaria and Vietnam were signed in Parliament
Five documents on cooperation between Bulgaria and Vietnam were signed at the National Assembly on September 25 during the visit of the Vietnamese parliamentary delegation led by the Chairman of the National Assembly, Vuong Dinh Hue. The visit was at the invitation of Bulgaria’s National Assembly Speaker Rosen Zhelyazkov.
The two delegations signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the National Assembly of Bulgaria and the National Assembly of Vietnam; a Memorandum of Understanding between the administrations of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria and the National Assembly of Vietnam; a Programme for Cooperation in the Field of Culture between the Ministry of Culture of Bulgaria and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam for 2024-2026; a plan for cooperation in the field of tourism between the Ministry of Tourism of Bulgaria and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam for 2024-2026, as well as a Memorandum of Understanding for the establishment of ties of friendship and cooperation between Pernik District and Vinh Phuc Province.
The signed agreements are both a guarantee for the development of bilateral relations and for the resumption of the work of the joint Bulgarian-Vietnamese commission for economic, trade and scientific-technical cooperation, whose meeting will be held on October 10-12 this year, Rosen Zhelyazkov said in a press statement. He noted that during the plenary talks, all the opportunities for the two countries were outlined, related to the promotion of investments - especially through the establishment of joint ventures in our country and in Vietnam, the possibilities for intensifying transport connectivity in the Black Sea and Bulgarian seaports, issues concerning tourism and culture, as well as the role of the two countries as factors of regional development in Europe and in Southeast Asia.
We appreciate and support the important role that Vietnam plays in Southeast Asia, the South China Sea and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), and we believe that Bulgaria has many opportunities for development in these regions, thanks to Vietnam's leading role and our intensive bilateral dialogue, which today is marking its new development, Zhelyazkov pointed out. In his words, the traditional friendship is now taking the form of mutually beneficial projects and intensification of trade relations. And an important factor for this is the inter-parliamentary cooperation, which is a guarantee for building high trust and an incentive for business and society, the Zhelyazkov stressed.
Speaker of the National Assembly of Vietnam Vuong Dinh Hue noted that Bulgaria was one of the first countries to establish diplomatic relations with his country. We highly appreciate the fact that the National Assembly has just approved the investment protection agreement between the European Union and Vietnam, and we believe that when it comes into force, the business with the EU, the Bulgarian, the Vietnamese business will have very favourable opportunities and this will be the basis for increasing investments, the guest was convinced.
A little later, Vuong Dinh Hue will welcome the participants in the Bulgarian-Vietnamese economic forum on the theme: 'Policy and legislation for the development of bilateral relations between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Republic of Bulgaria'.
