Glavchev caretaker government took an oath in office

The Glavchev cabinet took the oath of office at an extraordinary sitting of the National Assembly on April 9. This will be the 10th caretaker government in the country, but after the changes in the Constitution - the first time that a caretaker government was sworn in at the Parliament, rather than at the Presidency.

Early this morning, Head of State Rumen Radev signed three decrees - appointing the caretaker government and scheduling the extraordinary parliamentary elections in Bulgaria and the European Parliament elections. The two elections will be on the same date - 9 June.

The nominee for foreign minister was changed at the last moment. Thus, the Bulgarian Ambassador to Montenegro, Stefan Dimitrov, became the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Minister of Interior, Kalin Stoyanov, despite calls from We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria to be replaced as well, remains at the head of the ministry in the caretaker government.
