Italy's ambassador to BNT: We put a ceiling on prices to stop speculation

Russia's decision to reduce and stop gas volumes are creating big problems and price speculation in Italy. As a consequence, the country is trying to find measures for businesses and families to bring prices down. The most important decision that has been taken by the prime minister is to put a ceiling on prices and to stop this speculation. This was said in a special interview of BNT. Giuseppina Dzara - Ambassador of Italy in Bulgaria.

In her words, the proposal is almost ready to be voted on at the meeting of the energy ministers.

Concerning Italy's participation in the Bulgarian battle group, Giuseppina Dzara clarified that Italy is sending a contingent as a framework nation that will be used to deter the actions that are taking place on the Eastern flank. The decision was taken in March after the start of Russia's military action against Ukraine. Italy is adhering to all the measures taken, she said.

"This is a defensive measure that follows the decision to set up other battle groups in Hungary, Slovakia, Bulgaria and follows the 2014 decision to set up four battle groups in Poland and the Baltic countries," Ambassador Dzara said.
