Mayor of Dupnitsa has been indicted
The district Prosecutor's office in Kyustendil on May 13 indicted the Mayor or Dupnitsa, Parvan Dangov, after he threatened the town's police chief and his family.
The charge is for a threat made nearly two months ago. The police chief and his family were threatened by Dangov that he would deal with them. Now the Prosecutor’s office has gathered enough evidence to press charges. If found guilty, the mayor could face up to five years of imprisonment.
There are other pre-trial proceedings against the mayor and several files on reports by former employees of the municipality who have complained that Dangov forced them to quit their jobs. A pre-trial procedure has also been initiated regarding a scandal with cut trees in the town's central square.
