Minister of Interior: We have no information about terrorist attack amid escalation in the Middle East
We have no data about any threat of a terrorist attack, caretaker Minister of Interior, Atanas Ilkov, said at a briefing at the Council of Ministers on October 2.
"Additional security measures have been taken with regard to the diplomatic mission of the State of Israel and other sites related to the diplomatic mission so as to ensure the security of the employees and the areas where they are located," Minister Ilkov said.
"We have increased security measures in other places, but this is as a precautionary measure," he explained.
Referring to the evacuation and reception of Bulgarian citizens from the Middle East, he said that there was an adequate response from the Bulgarian government and coordination with all relevant ministries, agencies and departments. According to Minister Ilkov, more than 200 holiday facilities of the Ministry of Interior have been made available for accommodating evacuated Bulgarians. If these prove insufficient, other ministries' accommodation facilities will be used, he said.
