Ministry of Innovation and Growth organises National Meeting "Industrial Zones - Growth for Municipalities and Regions"

The Ministry of Innovation and Growth has organised a National Meeting "Industrial Zones - Growth for Municipalities and Regions" on 10 April (Monday) 2023 at 14.00 in Sofia Tech Park. Caretaker Minister Alexander Pulev invited all district governors and mayors of municipalities in Bulgaria to the forum.

The event is related to the upcoming application for one of the most important procedures of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP) - for the development of industrial zones and parks (Programme for public support for the development of industrial districts, parks and similar areas and for attracting investment (''AttractInvestBG''). The budget is BGN 212 million, earmarked for four areas - feeder infrastructure, intra-area infrastructure, buildings for research and development and the construction of eco-infrastructure such as charging stations for electric vehicles.

At the meeting, experts from different structures in the Ministry's system will inform local authorities about the opportunities to support regions and municipalities under upcoming programmes and procedures. Deputy Prime Minister for EU Funds Management Atanas Pekanov, the Fund of Funds, the Bulgarian Development Bank, the Directorate General "European Competitiveness Funds" (ECF), the Executive Agency for the Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises, the Directorate "Economic Growth Instruments" and representatives of the Bulgarian Investment Agency will be present.

"I would like to assure you that after the visits I held with my team in all regions of the country, we are organising this meeting as a sign of our will to support local authorities and regions and because of our conviction that the Recovery Plan money should reach every corner of the country," Minister Alexander Pulev wrote in the letter to the mayors and regional governors.
