More than half of Bulgarians expect the state to take measures against high inflation, according to Eurobarometer survey

In Bulgaria, 57% of citizens expect the state to take action against high living costs, according to a Eurobarometer survey presented on April 12 by the European Commission.

On average in the EU, 48% of respondents share this view. Similar and higher shares of citizens with this expectation are observed in 13 other EU countries. In four countries, the issue of low wages comes first, in two - the state of healthcare and in one - access to housing. The survey asked for answers on what Europeans are most concerned about in terms of social policy.

A total of 88% of Europeans say that the social dimension of Europe is important to them personally. According to 45%, living standards are most important in this respect, followed by access to health care and good working conditions (44%), and a level playing field in the labour market (40%). According to 38%, the EU should have a say in the state of healthcare, wages (34%) and the size of pensions (30%).
