Overflowing Mesta river destroys the road between Hadzhidimovo and Blatska, Southwestern Bulgaria
The overflowing Mesta river destroyed the road between the town of Hadzhidimovo and the village of Blatska in the Southwestern Bulgarian district of Blagoevgrad, the press office of the local police said on January 12.
The road collapsed because its foundations had been washed away by the waters of the Mesta River. People who have to travel in the area can use an alternative route from the village of Blatska through the villages of Hvostyane and Dabnitsa to Gotse Delchev.
Police teams have been deployed to control the traffic.
