Parliament hosts round table on the role of young people for the future of the EU
The Speaker of the Parliament, Rosen Zhelyazkov, the Deputy Speaker, Nikola Minchev, and the MP from “We Continue the Change- Democratic Bulgaria”, Denitsa Simeonova, on June 5, opened a round table on the topic "The role of young people for the future of Europe".
"In the past, in order to travel outside Bulgaria, you had to have a foreign passport and a visa. You had to wait for months for a visa. We now have freedom of movement, speech and thought, all that we call equality. The EU is the fairest place to live, despite imperfections. You are called to defend this right, not only to be voters, but also to be elected", said Rosen Zhelyazkov.
"The future is in your hands. We have reached a good state of the EU. No matter how many imperfections there are, this remains the best place to live on our planet", said Nikola Minchev - Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly.
"I was amazed by the level of understanding of the EU processes. Young Europeans increased the voter turnout in the 2019 European elections. They are extremely important," said Denitsa Simeonova of WCC-DB.
