Peevski joined President's call: Ministry of Interior to inform about election violations
I join President Rumen Radev's call to the competent institutions to present all the data and facts about how the parliamentary elections were conducted on Sunday.
“As MRF leader representing nearly 300,000 voters - Bulgarians, Turks, Pomaks and Roma, I expect convincing answers from the representatives of caretaker government, the Ministry of Interior and the security services, which should immediately provide information about whether there were cases of vote buying or corporate-controlled voting, or influence upon or through representatives of local authorities or businesses, which should be investigated with the utmost severity of the law.”
“I share the concern that the Bulgarian public is not receiving satisfactory answers and there is growing anxiety and distrust due to the tension created in the public domain over the fairness of the elections, on the one hand, and over the failure of the institutions to shed light on the real situation, on the other hand.”
In his words, "the more often elections are produced in Bulgaria, the more questions remain unanswered and the scandals with codes, flash drives and machines and the trading of votes and influence still weigh on the citizens' vote".
"It should be clear to the public what happened, how and when, so that we can move forward and get out of the political limbo in which politicians who have failed in their ambitions use the fears and concerns of the people to start their next campaign," Delyan Peevski further said.
