Permit for use for the gas interconnector with Greece has been issued
A permit for the use of the gas connection with Greece has been issued, Bulgaria’s caretaker Minister of Regional Development and Public Works, Ivan Shishkov, announced at a briefing on September 28. He said that the granting of the permit was a huge success for the caretaker government.
"The caretaker government reports to you with one of the main tasks we had to do - to ensure the technical readiness for the launch of the site," the minister said.
The gas link will be commissioned on October 1.
"We have all been excited about the way the site will be completed. We are now relieved and from October 1, it will be put into operation without violating any norms," Shishkov said.
Earlier today, Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) chairman, Ivan Ivanov, assured that the energy regulator is ready to prepare the relevant report tomorrow and on Friday, it will discuss the final decisions that are needed for the interconnector to be officially opened on October 1.
