PM Denkov and President of Slovenia discussed partnership in the area of atrificial intelligence and EU enlargement

Prime Minister, Acad. Nikolai Denkov, met with the President of Slovenia, Nataša Pirc Musar, at the Council of Ministers on February 27.

The Prime Minister noted that the visit of the Slovenian President to Bulgaria was a clear sign of the excellent bilateral dialogue and was a very good opportunity to intensify cooperation between the two countries in all areas.

"I am convinced that there is additional potential for partnership in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship," said PM Denkov.

He added that the two countries should also work to increase tourism exchanges between them.

"We already have good cooperation in the field of education and science, but I believe that more fresh contacts between the relevant institutions will generate additional ideas to enrich the ties between the members if the public. Our efforts should be focused on supporting the mobility of students, postgraduates and lecturers by concluding agreements on direct cooperation between the higher education institutions of the two countries, establishing joint scientific and educational centres, exchanging ideas and experiences on mechanisms of international scientific and technical cooperation," the Prime Minister noted.

Prime Minister Denkov briefed President Nataša Pirc Musar on the capabilities of the Bulgarian Institute for Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Technology INSAIT.

He pointed out that the Bulgarian development BgGPT is the first open large artificial intelligence language model of the last generation and it will be freely usable by Bulgarian public and private organizations.

Another focus of the meeting was the enlargement process of the European Union towards the Western Balkans. The Prime Minister specified that Bulgaria supports the EU enlargement, but for this purpose it is necessary that the candidate member states fulfil their commitments.
