Police disrupted a crime group of African nationals selling drugs in Sunny Beach seaside resort
Foreigners illegally residing on the territory of the country attempt to commit drug distribution crimes in conditions of organized crime groups. These are persons with strict hierarchy, conspiratorial and it would be very difficult to infiltrate their group - this was announced at a briefing by the Prosecutor's office and the police in Burgas on July 25.
"The group has been monitored for about 2 months. It consists of 8 people with a clear hierarchical structure. 6 of them are Nigerian citizens and two of them are from Ghana. They have permanent residence status in Bulgaria. Their criminal activity consisted in organizing the distribution of narcotics on the territory of the Sunny Beach resort. They distributed three types of drugs - marijuana, ecstasy and cocaine," explained Kaloyan Kaloyanov - Director of the Burgas Police Department.
The memebers of the group used concealments for storage of the drugs in the resort. The concealments were changed every day. The places where the drugs were kept were various - buried in the sand on the beach, hidden in the bushes or next to small retail outlets in specially adapted small concealments. They hired lodgings in Sunny Beach and the supply of drugs in the concealments did not take place in the evening, but at lunchtime.
They selected customers, mostly foreigners, and sold them the drugs at different prices. It was found that the price for a dose of marijuana of about 0.3 grammes ranged between 30-40 and in some cases 90 leva for one cigarette. A dose of cocaine of about 0.5 grammes costs between 120 and 160 leva. The price is also determined by the client's state of alcohol intoxication, investigators explained.
