President Radev: Bulgaria does not set new conditions for the European integration of North Macedonia, but insists on the fulfilment of commitments undertaken
Bulgaria does not set new conditions for the European integration of the Republic of North Macedonia, but insists that the commitments it has already made in the negotiating framework adopted last year be implemented, President Rumen Radev said on June 29 at the presentation of Spas Tashev's book "The struggles of the Macedonian Bulgarians for rights and independence - 68 cases from the period 1944 - 1994".
This is how he responded to the messages coming from Skopje that the inclusion of Bulgarians in the Constitution is the latest Bulgarian condition. He recalled that all the conditions are written into the negotiating framework adopted last year by the Council, which includes changes in history textbooks, stopping hate speech, and joint celebrations of historical events.
The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Macedonian Bulgarians, public figures committed to the cause of the rights of Bulgarians in the Republic of North Macedonia and the preservation of our cultural and historical heritage there.
The book includes a series of articles presenting the struggles of the Bulgarians in Macedonia.
