President Radev: North Macedonia's road to Brussels passes through Sofia
Commenting on the political situation in North Macedonia, President Radev on May 17 said that if the destructive talk of the politicians in our neighbouring country grows into actions, it will push them away from EU membership.
"The Republic of North Macedonia should not forget that it is an EU candidate country and cannot put conditions on EU member states. Nor can it revise international treaties, because this would label the country as a state that does not respect international law," he added.
Radev called on our neighbour to respect the good neighbourly relations treaties:
"I hope the politicians in North Macedonia have understood that the election campaign is over and if their destructive talk and behaviour turns into real actions, it means pushing their country towards isolation and away from the EU."
The President expressed his expectation that every Bulgarian politician who will represent our country in the European Council will defend the national interest and the rights of the Bulgarians in the Republic of North Macedonia.
