President Radev to "WCC-Democratic Bulgaria" in the consultations: Can you commit to the implementation of the third mandate?
You stated a firm position that you will remain in opposition and will not engage in policies of assemblages with GERB and MRF. Today, do you continue to stand on this position and in case the GERB-UDF with the first mandate propose a government that puts forward the same priorities from your joint previous government programme, will you not stand behind them and support them," President Rumen Radev said at the consultations with “We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria” (WCC-DB) on June 24.
Bulgaria's President gave the start of consultations on forming a government
The President asked them whether they could commit to the implementation of the third mandate.
"The parties that are willing to run for the third mandate are increasing in number. Would you build in an anti-GERB-MRF coalition under the auspices of "Vazrazhdane", Radev added.
"It is easy to topple a government, but it is difficult to make a new one. The first and the second political forces should take their responsibility and fulfil these mandates," Nikolay Denkov said.

In his words, it is the turn of GERB-UDF to show that it can do better. The approach of GERB-UDF and MRF in this National Assembly is completely wrong - hidden talks about positions, from which it is not clear who wants to work for what, Denkov stressed.
According to him, in the current political configuration, the WE Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria do not see how they could implement their priorities and tasks. We remain in opposition, Denkov noted.
Denkov commented on "Vazrazhdane": "Vazrazhdane" has a completely different idea of how Bulgaria should develop and we do not see how we could develop our priorities together with "Vazrazhdane".
"The voters have provided GERB with the opportunity to have a government-forming mandate for the seventh time. We will not back down from our policies and reforms that we had set in the Denkov cabinet", said WCC-DB co-leader, Kiril Petkov.

Under the Constitution, the first two mandates go to the two largest groups in Parliament, GERB-UDF and MRF. If they fail to form a government, the President hands over the third mandate to a parliamentary group at his discretion. If it fails too, a caretaker government is appointed and parliamentary elections are scheduled within two months.
