Regional Development Minister: The state is ready for Act 16 of the interconnector with Greece
"The state is ready for Act 16 (authorisation for use) of the interconnector with Greece, expected next week. All the documents from municipalities and companies have been taken," Minister of Regional Development, Ivan Shishkov, said told BNT on September 17.
According to him, all the documents have been submitted so that the site can be put into operation.
The interconnector with Greece already has pre-operational license Act 15.
"The pipe can be filled to the capacity that has been agreed. There is still a reserve in this pipe, there is a possibility for a larger amount of gas," Ivan Shishkov added.
He described the suspension of the Hemus Motorway projects as bad management.
"There are suspended infrastructure projects, the second lot is the furthest behind in time, it is not clear how and where the construction of the motorway will go. We have not planned all the motorways in the country as routes and the connections between them," Ivan Shishkov added.
He clarified that a clear algorithm for highway construction is needed.
"The only way to continue the construction of Hemus motorway is to solve the problem by legal means. They have started to rebuild the pegs of the Kresna Gorge. By the end of 2023 the construction of the Europe Motorway should be completed, Ivan Shishkov said.
