Sofia Opera presented its programme for the new season

Sofia Opera and Ballet on October 18 officially presented its programme for the current season. The first premiere is the opera "The Queen of Spades" by Tchaikovsky, directed by Vera Petrova. Immediately after that the ballet company will start the preparation of “The Spring of the White-Legged”.

Moments from various opera titles performed on the stage of the Sofia Opera were shown. There were dozens of positive reviews from Bulgarian public figures who attended the opening of this year's season.

Sofia Opera director Plamen Kartalov pledged that he and his team would continue to fulfill the institution's social mission.

"Our socio-cultural role is fulfilled according to our policy as it is. Opera and ballet cannot be closed or preserved in one building. They have to open to the widest audience, especially today with the digital invasion of information," said Plamen Kartalov, director of the Sofia Opera and Ballet.
