Some farmers call for support for farming in mountainous areas
They do not seek the resignation of the Agriculture Minister
Protests continue by another group of farmers, which includes the Potato Growers Association, the United Farmers Association, and the Union of Agricultural Cooperatives in Bulgaria. They are demanding more support for high and semi-mountainous agriculture and do not want the resignation of Agriculture Minister Kiril Vatev. Negotiations are currently taking place in the Ministry of Agriculture.
"We all have the same problems fighting for a place under the sun. Firstly - there is no written agreement for potato growers to receive targeted de minimus this year as they have been removed from bind support. 80% of potato growers are in mountain and semi-mountainous regions, which are the biggest losers of losers," said Todor Dzhikov, Association of Potato Growers in Bulgaria.
"We are not just fighting for some money, we are fighting for real changes so that the farmers can work in peace," Ventsislav Mitkov said.
