Talks between GERB-UDF and WCC-DB resume: There will be no GERB ministers in proposed cabinet
In the cabinet, proposed with the second mandate, there will be no party figures from GERB as ministers, but there may be experts proposed by the largest parliamentary party, Nikolai Denkov, nominated for Prime Minister by the second largest parliamentary group “We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria” (WCC-DB) said on May 31.
For nearly three hours, representatives of the two largest parliamentary groups, GERB-UDF and WCC-DB, discussed the line-up and structure of the prospective government, as well as guarantees for the administration after the leaked audio recording of the "We Continue the Change" meeting.
"Talks have begun and are continuing. When there is a result, we will give you information. We keep working, there is work to do, give us some time. There are two elements - to ensure that there will be no problems with the administration, so we are preparing the relevant document to give peace of mind to all those who are worried. We are also discussing the line-up. There will be no GERB ministers as GERB ministers," said Nikolai Denkov.
Yesterday Mariya Gabriel, the GERB-UDF nominee for Prime Minister, set conditions for the WCC-DB to resume talks - to reconsider the composition of the cabinet and their principles. The blocking of the negotiation process came after the released audio recording of the meeting of the National Council of "We Continue the Change".
In the meantime, the President handed the second mandate to form a government to Acad. Nikolai Denkov of WCC-DB with the call not to fulfill it.
