Thracian Tomb Ostrusha near Kazanlak opened to visitors (photos)
The fully restored Thracian burial mound Ostrusha near Kazanlak (central Bulgaria) is now open to visitors.
The complex will be open every day of the week and the admission will be free-of-charge.
Ostrusha is one of the most impressive complexes in the Valley of the Thracian Kings.
It was one of the first major discoveries in the region by the 1993 expedition of archaeologist Assoc. Prof. Dr. Georgi Kitov.
The tomb-cult complex was developed over an area of 100 square meters, and consists of six premises, one of which is a sarcophagus-like chamber. A ritual cluster of numerous broken pottery vessels and architectural details was uncovered in front of the complex, the museum recalled.
