Three hospitals in Bourgas refused to admit 13-year-old child for treatment

Three hospitals in Bourgas refused to admit a 13-year-old child for treatment, his relatives reported on January 11. The child felt unwell at home, after three attempts to be admitted to hospital, on leaving the third one, the child fainted and had a seizure.

"When we got out of the hospital, the child collapsed and fell to the ground, a cold child, not breathing and bruised all over. I hastily dragged her there into the anteroom of the hospital, the doctors trying to bring her to her senses, sprinkling her with water and light slaps, I saw the child swallowing her tongue. Me and her grandmother - I opened her mouth, the grandmother took her tongue out, the child popped her tongue out sharply and took a breath. They panicked and so on," said Ivan Ivanov, the child's uncle.

"I will check the case, why it came to this. Twice a day we have information about the vacant beds, especially the beds available for children. To date, 15% of the beds are vacant. There are 10 unoccupied beds for children in the city," said Dr Georgi Pazderov, director of the Regional Health Inspectorate-Bourgas.
