Transport industry supports national protest against high fuel prices

Bulgaria continues to be the EU country that has not yet taken action against rising fuel prices and galloping inflation. Negotiations with the transport industry and the demands put forward by hauliers continue to be unanswered. The promised dialogue is not happening and in the situation of resigning ministers, the public consultation on tolls has expired without a solution to the problem.

For these reasons, the United Transport Industry will support the national protest against the high fuel prices, because Bulgarian citizens are paying higher and higher prices every day, while all EU member states are taking adequate measures to support individuals and businesses in the extreme situation we are in.

The United Transport Industry states that:

1. All actions of the carriers to date and in the future are not political in nature;

2. There has been no change in the demands made to the Executive more than two months ago;

3. It is a business that employs thousands of people and contributes 20% of GDP;

4. Respects the laws of the Republic of Bulgaria and all European legal norms.
