WCC-DB co-chair Kiril Petkov congratulated the Republican Party for the success in the US presidential election

I congratulate all my friends in the Republican Party on the success in the elections. Winning majorities in the Senate and Congress and emerging victorious in the presidential race is a major political achievement. This is what Kiril Petkov, co-chair of "We Continue the Change" - "Democratic Bulgaria" wrote on Facebook after the projected results of the US elections.

"Just a month ago I was invited to Washington for a meeting with Mike Pompeo and we discussed in depth the important political and economic factors that affect our region. As a former Secretary of State and key person in the new Trump administration, his experience and knowledge of international affairs will be fundamental to US policy for the next four years.

Of course, Bulgaria's fate depends first and foremost on the Bulgarians, but good cooperation with the US is important for positioning our country in the changing geopolitical reality," Petkov wrote.
