How a ship woke up after 100 years at the bottom and what an intriguing story it tells – Maria Cherneva’s research project on BNT 1.
Maria Cherneva and camerawoman Anna Andreeva embark on an exciting investigation – a serious search through the folders of the US state archives, refracted through our own history in the times between the two world wars. The result is an almost adventurous story about a ship that in itself turns out to be unique and the only one left from an impressive program of the US government in response to Germany’s submarine warfare.
“But the archives turned out to be the easier challenge. The harder thing was to see through the sea “fog”, 30 meters to the bottom and see what Mopang himself has to tell us,” says Maria Cherneva. The director of “100 Years of Silence” is Ara Khougasyan.
